Award for an Innovative Wearable Solution – Recognition for the BMEI and ‘Teltonika Telemedic’ Partnership

Important | 2025-12-15

This year, the collaboration between the Biomedical Engineering Institute and UAB “Teltonika Telemedic” was recognised with the “Business and Science” award established by the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.

The award was granted for the successful cooperation between the institute’s researchers and business representatives, which resulted in the development of an innovative wearable device – the multifunctional smart wristband “TeltoHeart.”

By recording various biosignals, the wristband continuously monitors heart rhythm and enables the detection of heart rhythm disorders, specifically atrial fibrillation. The developed solution significantly contributes to the early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases and has strong potential for application in the healthcare sector as well as for regional economic development.

This recognition highlights the close synergy between science and business, creating conditions for the development of high value-added technological solutions with a meaningful economic impact on the region.

During the ceremonial anniversary evening of the Chamber community held on December 12, the award was presented to the Director of UAB “Teltonika Telemedic” Darius Ilgevičius and a Senior Researcher at the KTU Biomedical Engineering Institute Andrius Sološenko.
