PhD student Anna Pajak from AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Poland, visited the KTU Institute of Biomedical Engineering on 30.08 – 30.09.2022. During her short visit, Anna did a lot. She got deep into the new methodology for analysis of periodic biomedical signals, ‘Symmetric projection attractor reconstruction (SPAR),’ recently proposed by Professor Philip Aston from the University of Surrey, UK. Anna implemented the method in software and applied it to photoplethysmography signals recorded during induced pain experiments. Promising results warrant fruitful collaboration in the future.
